In Japan 🇯🇵, 漢字kanji (a system of logographic characters used in the writing systems of the Japanese language) learning begins in the first grade of elementary school. Children learn approximately 80 kanji in one year. In the nine years of compulsory education, children learn approximately 2,136 kanji. Learning Kanji is more about getting used to it than learning it. I recommend giving quizzes during the bath time or using picture books as a way to get children interested in kanji. Marhaban!

We recently went to a book launch event for Sheikha Bibi Salem AlSabah's book in Sadu house, a cultural center that promotes Kuwaiti textiles.
I found out about the event on Instagram that day and immediately asked my husband if he wanted to go. My husband said, "Sure," and he was ready to go.
Speaking of Sheikha Bibi, she has published another book titled "25 26 FEB" in addition to this one.
In the introduction of ABC’S Of KUWAIT, there is a little bit about Sheikha Bibi's background, which I thought was nice, so I would like to introduce it here.

She comes from a royal family of Kuwait, as she is known, and her father was a diplomat.

As she lived with her parents and four brothers in various countries abroad, she always had a special place in her heart for her native country Kuwait, which her parents and grandparents taught her about.

On the weekends, her mother fed her children Kuwaiti food and made sure that her siblings used Arabic when speaking to each other.
She brought a Kuwaiti dish called ma'adas, a lentil and rice dish, to picnics, and she taught her children the "Kuwaiti spirit" throughout their lives.
Sheikha Bibi's family returned to Kuwait for the summer and spent time with her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins all summer long.
Having spent most of her childhood abroad in a different culture, she is more passionate about Kuwait than most people, and says that each slices of Kuwaiti culture is a bridge between herself and her country.
It is a wonderful story.
I was moved by the fact that I could see the similarities in my own children.

The book is suitable for everyone, from young children to adults, and will introduce them to Kuwait's rich culture.

As you follow the alphabet one by one, you will discover new discoveries and feel a sense of familiarity that will make you laugh and say, "Oh, yes!

The breathtaking illustrations are by Nada Dalloul.
I was impressed by the illustration, which expresses the goodness of Kuwait very well.

Living in Arab country, I hear حبيبي "habibi" or حبيبتي "habibiti" in various everyday situations.

Literally translated, Habibi is "my beloved (man)" and Habibiti is "my beloved (woman).

Since "habibi" often used in Arabic love songs, you would think that habibi is a romantic designation, but it is also used everyday between men, women, and even between parents and children.

Arabs say "habibi" when they want to say "my dear" in a friendly way, even if they are strangers.

Even if he/she is a stranger, even if it is the first time they have met!
≪Note≫ In this case, it is limited to people of the same gender!

If the opposite gender you meet for the first time calls you Habibi or Habibiti, you should be wary of that.

My husband does not usually call his male friends Habibi, and rarely calls me Habibiti 🙄, but there is a time when he calls me Habibiti repeatedly.

That is when he is trying hard to convince me or wanting me to do something. 😂

Habibi and habibiti are used on a daily basis not only between lovers and spouses, but also between parents, children, family members, and friends.

I show you some situations.

Thank you habibti!

example 2 : before going out
Yallah habibi (Let's go)

example 3 : In conversation with a friend
Inti habibti wallah (I really love you)

example 4 : To your lover
Ahabik habibi (I love you)

example 5 : Talking to a child
Shukran habibi (Thank you)

If you have the opportunity to interact with Arabs, please use it. It will increase your intimacy at once.

Please note that Habibi and Habibiti are not used between opposites who are not romantically or blood related. 😉

Would you accept polygamy?

If you are a Muslim, you have probably thought about it once or twice. As many of you probably know, polygamy is legal in Islam.
The holy book Quran also states how to deal with women and protect their rights.
While it is written that wives must be fair to each other in superficial and material matters such as financial support and spending the night together, fairness in "love" is not obligatory.
But fairness in "love" is not an obligation, because it is not within his (the husband's) power.
And you will never treat your wives justly, even if you are eager to do so." (Qur'an: 129)

So, although Islam says that there should be no more than four wives, this is not an endorsement, but rather an admonition, "Don't do it, it's too much work. Rather, it is taken as an admonition to not have a wife because it is too much work.
Now, here is a personal story about Beatlemania.
I converted to Islam when I got married, and it was a very hard decision of my life.
I had been interested in Islam for years before I converted, so I learned about it on my own, but I never thought the day would come when I would have to convert.
There is still a difference between those who want to convert willingly and those who "have to convert".
So, when I converted, I was most concerned about the "hijab" and "polygamy".
Before proceeding with marriage, I told my future husband, "I cannot accept polygamy.”
And, in addition, out of ignorance, I asked, "Why are only men allowed to do that?" I asked.
I don't remember exactly what happened at the time, but I was talking about the most important thing in my life, and my husband didn't seem to care. Lol
I became concerned, so I asked a good Kuwaiti friend of mine, "If you get married in the future, is polygamy OK? What if your husband marries someone else?" I remember asking her for advice. Lol
Then my friend laughed at me and said, "No one worries about polygamy when they get married. Who would care?”
